"Unexpected Error Support Code: 62VG-X8MT1” when opening Microsoft® Excel® or Microsoft® Word in CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.

"Unexpected Error Support Code: 62VG-X8MT1” when opening Microsoft® Excel® or Microsoft® Word in CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.

This support code is caused by a hung instance of Microsoft® Excel® or Microsoft® Word.
  1. Close all Microsoft® Excel® or Microsoft® Word files.
  2. Right-click on the Task Bar and select Task Manager.
    • Or use Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click Task Manager.
  3. Click on the Processes tab and sort by process Name.
    • For Microsoft Windows 8.1 and higher, click the Details tab. 
  4. Right-click and choose End Process on any of the following:
    • Excel.exe
    • Excel.exe*32
    • Winword.exe
  5. Test the Microsoft® Excel® or the Microsoft® Word workpaper to see if you still receive the support code.
  6. If you still receive the support code, reboot the machine. 
If the error doesn't resolve, then the previous network configuration and Microsoft® SQL Server configuration needs to be cleared.

  2. Find and perform the steps under the sections "Networking" and "Cleaning Up Old Entries: to clean up old entries made by the utility:"
  3. Relaunch Engagement or Workpaper Manager and see if the issue resolves.
  4. If error still persists, contact CCH Wolters Kluwer Support and ask for a representative.
If the error is accompanied by support code 62VG-57UK1, you will need to uninstall and reinstall just the Engagement program. Microsoft® Office was recently upgraded, reinstalled, or repaired then Engagement or Workpaper Manager will need to be repaired
