"The Synchronization Service program (PFXSYNPFTService.exe) is not running" when synchronizing a binder in CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
The following below are possible resolutions to resolve the issue.- Check the CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager services to make sure PFXSYNPFTService.exe is running.
- Close Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
- Start or Restart the PFXSYNPFTService by following steps in the linked article:
- Verify that any active scanning anti-virus or anti-malware program has exclusions set for the ?:\Pfx Engagement folder, where ? is the drive that CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager is installed to by refer to the article:
- The configuration utility can be used to ensure the host and remote machines are seeing each other across the network over IPv4. Follow the Networking section in the article:
- Verify the workstation is using a single network adapter to access the network.
- This behavior has been observed when a workstation is connected to Ethernet and Wireless internet simultaneously. Disconnect from one of the networks and verify if binder synchronization completes successfully. (Michael: I've confirmed this resolved the issue for at least one user when laptop connected to KBF-CPA-CORP WIFI and also physical network connection via Dell docking station in office. This same scenario can also occur if users have a docking station at home connected to a physical network connection and the laptop is also connected to the user's home WIFI. Workaround was to disable WIFI for XX hours)
- Try disabling IPv6.
Note: (Please consult with the network administrator to review the network configuration in the office before continuing.)
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click Network and Sharing Center.
- On the top left corner, Select Change adapter settings.
- Select the current Network connection that is enabled or connected (Example: Ethernet or Wi-Fi)
- Right-click and then Select Properties.
- On the Networking tab under This connection uses the following items: clear the checkbox for Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
- Click OK.
- Try turning off DNE lightweight filter.
- If the message continues, run a repair to CCH® ProSystem fx®Engagement or Workpaper Manager.
- When the CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement Administrator, Terminal Server Database, or Terminal Server Client are installed, necessary services are created and started by default under the Local System account. Depending on the configuration of the network topology or domain, the Local System account may not have the correct permissions or authentication credentials to read and write data on a remote file share or server where the physical files are located.
